Farm to Train Table
Eat like a local with our new Farm-to-table menu on board the Saratoga & North Creek Railway this summer. Visitors to New York State can find farmer’s markets with fresh-picked fruits and vegetables grown on local farms as well as specialty foods created by local artisans. New York specialties include fresh-pressed apple cider, maple syrup, artisanal breads and cheeses, juicy grapes, and award-winning wines. Many farmers markets offer certified organic produce and pasture raised meats, poultry, eggs and dairy products. The Adirondacks is particularly known for their maple syrups.
The Saratoga & North Creek Railway’s new Chef Evan Hume is leading the charge on our exciting Farm-to-Table initiative, presenting passengers with locally-sourced gourmet cuisine, along with local beers and wines native to the Adirondack region. The railway is also pleased to offer new special event, brunch and dinner trains running throughout the remainder of 2015, including a Father’s Day Brunch train and a German-themed Oktoberfest Train.
